Bobby Benton and the Case of the Rusty Padlock

Bobby and Don Benton have a surprising knack for uncovering mysteries. A rusty padlock on the boat house and other clues unravel an international mystery involving smuggling and danger. "Let's head for the tent!" Don cried out as the cold rain fell on his back. "Just one more." Bobby carried a large branch and placed it on top of the canoe. Suddenly a light flashed across the path. "Hide!" Don hissed as he dove behind a small spruce tree. Bobby was not quick enough. A large burly man ran up the path and was face to face with Bobby before he could move. The man jumped. He was as surprised to see Bobby, as Bobby was to see him. "What are you doing here, kid?" the man snarled. Don watched the scene from behind the tree, praying as he watched. "Uh ... who ... me?" "Smart aleck kid. You come with me! You'll talk soon enough." The man grabbed Bobby's arm and half dragged him in the direction of the cabin.
