Raphael and Renata Le Page, a brother and sister team, are hired to take a group claiming to be scientists up a remote mountain, where a plane has gone down with close to one billion stolen Euros onboard. Flown beneath radar detection, only a handful of people know of its existence. While the Le Page siblings are just doing the job they have been hired to do, the ruthless criminals are after the cash. Pretty Dumb

The book is pretty cheesy, the characters are barely even one-dimensional, and the narrator goes a little overboard, but I still kind of liked it. I laughed at a few parts and appreciate that it didn't take itself too seriously. I would probably even read a sequel if there ever is one.

Might have enjoyed this more with another narrator

The book was or might have been a bit interesting, but any feeling or thrill is neutralized with how it was narrated, and getting through it was a drag. The story was a bit lacking in tension, and the main focus (the Yetis) felt quite meh and undescribed. Some murders, some funny bits, but no wow factor.

The narrator accentuates a lot of the words, especially things like 'he said" and "she said". Also the narration part in the book is done with such a cheerful and excited voice that you can't really focus on it, and sometimes it's difficult to distinguish the narrator from the characters. There is no neutral tone and no adaptation of the text to audio.

Solid horror/thriller novella

This novella reads like a movie script! Great narration and an enjoyable story that I definitely recommend

Maybe it would be a better movie

I actually enjoyed the premise of this book. I mean, what's not to like about killer yetis, right?

However, I felt like the execution was lacking. The writing was definitely cheesy and there were some ridiculous metaphors (which I honestly respect). The main characters could definitely use some more fleshing out.

My main problem was with the narration. The narrator did a good job with dialog. I was able to keep everyone straight with the voices, but I didn't care for the tone he used for the rest of the narrative. It honestly reminded me of the movie trailer voice (In a World Where Yetis attack....) and I felt like the book would have been better served with a more thoughtful approach.
