Stay With It
This is a very good book. It is very text book like though, so it is very necessary to stay focused. For some reason that was hard this time around. But that's not anyone's fault. The one thing with this book is it goes from very technical bombing run stories, to random facts about American servicemen, English women, etc that are seemingly out of a travel book. The tone changes drastically and without warning. It's sometimes hard to follow. The flip flop makes it unnecessarily complicated. And the narration, though good, is a bit monotone. Too, the book seems much longer than it is. There's nothing wrong with the narrator choice, he just doesn't breathe much life into it. But the story of the 8th Air Force is a powerful one, so it's worth it.
