Clear and concise

Where does Blockchain: Uncovering Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, and the Future of Money rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed this book very much! I had heard about blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin but didn't fully understand what they meant before listening to this book. I was concerned that the information would be too difficult for a beginner, but the author does a great job with breaking the material into simple terms.

What about Scott Miller’s performance did you like?

Scott Miller has an authoritative, yet calming voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was impressed with how Alan Wright first explains that blockchain is similar to a ledger of transactions as that made it very clear and sets up the rest of the information. He then defines many of the terms related to this area, which helped me tremendously. Wright also makes the point that blockchain can be used in dozens of fields and isn't merely important for those in the technology industry. Bitcoin is clearly and carefully described and compared to the currency that we use daily. He also explains whether bitcoin can be a significant investment and discusses its use in businesses. The chapter on cryptocurrency discusses the pros and cons of expanding its use. Alan Wright looks clearly and carefully at a complicated topic and makes it accessible to all readers.

This book truly covers all of the basics in the field of blockchain that a beginner might need to understand this innovative concept. It’s a great for any beginner who is trying to understand blockchain and it’s implications quickly.

This book is highly recommended as it explains and covers Blockchain in a way that works really well for technicians and non-technicians alike. This is not a book that just introduces and gives a light covering of the topics, there is much greater depth and discussion of each and every aspect of the Blockchain and how it can be applied to commerce, government, and legal entities. A must get.

An Interesting Listen!

What made the experience of listening to Blockchain: Uncovering Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, and the Future of Money the most enjoyable?

The voice was very appealing as well as the storyline itself. I listened to it while working out because a friend recommended it to me. I, on the other hand, would definitely recommend this book to another person.

Who was your favorite character and why?

In a general sense, I did not have a favorite character I feel as if I liked all of them in an equal way.

Which scene was your favorite?

Out of many scenes, my favorite one was the history behind it all. I was very interested in learning the background to all of it. The book as an overall total was a home run!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The entire book was very inspirational and moving so, it is generally hard to say which one is my favorite part. But, if I had to pick it would be the part talking about general use and functions.

Any additional comments?

Anyone that was thinking about reading this book should read it! It is a great one!

Informative primer to cryptocurrency!

This book can be best summed up with the three words, informative, interesting, and invaluable!

What other book might you compare Blockchain: Uncovering Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, and the Future of Money to and why?

I compare Freakonomics to this book. The information, while substantial, is broken up into nice bite sized chunks for the reader's consumption. The thing I appreciate most about the book is that it takes a complicated concept, cryptocurrencies, and breaks them down into smaller components. Wright's words demystify the technology while Miller's narration makes for a pleasant experience.

Which scene was your favorite?

The book's description on the emerging market places and bitcoin interested me. Miller made me feel confident enough with my knowledge to pay attention to the bitcoin driven financial news. As of late, the price of cryptocurrency has exploded onto mainstream market news. Reading this book feels like timely and serendipitous.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not have an extreme reaction, but I was dumbfounded by what I did not know. This book provided me the base of concepts necessary to further explore the technology. After finishing the book, I felt like a re-read would benefit me greatly. In addition, this book can act as a future guidepost should I decide to embark on a bitcoin journey of my own.
