Inspiration I Needed to Create My Own Path

Absolutely LOVED this book. I’ve always been the black sheep of my family. Doing things a bit differently than everyone else. As I aged I found myself caring less and less about living by rules I didn’t write. This book inspired me through real world examples not just to continue my authentic journey but tips on how to do it better and with thoughtful planning. It showed me how I still have areas where I tow the company line and do things because it’s what expected of me. I love the examples of people who don’t take “well that’s how it’s always done” as a cop out to try something radically different. Kelly LaPlante definitely practices what she preaches and artfully summarizes her approach to designing her very interesting and fulfilling life. Highly recommend.

A Vision, A Light, and A Plan

I am struck by the difference between this author's approach, and so many other life planning or personal growth books available in the world today. We all want to be inspired. This book does that in great measure. But what is often lacking in similar texts are steps. Directional light. The plan the reader can use to put inspiration to action and see real positive change. While I was listening to Black Sheep Blueprints - before I was even done - I began putting these principles into action, and almost immediately began to see progress and a move toward more intentional and unconstrained actions in my life. For me, that kind of change is remarkable and encouraging. I believe others will feel the same, no matter your background or the belief system you bring. The stories told in this book, and the real people that model the behaviors which bring about positive change are indeed an inspiration. But they also light the path and allow the author to show you the plan that you, too, can follow if you really want to design the life you've always wanted.

Enlightening!!

The writing and narration are fantastic. Kelly has the innate ability to get to the root of what so many of us struggle to figure out in the most gentle and loving way. She perfectly speaks to those of us that move to a different beat and provides support and instructions on how to build upon on our unconventional and beautiful blueprints. We can all design a life that suits us unapologetically and assist others in doing so by example of a life lived well.

Kelly has created a heartfelt guide on l how to design your masterpiece you. With the perspective of the average person instead of a professional psychologist, she’s a professional designer. How cool is that?? She talks about the open heart and the open mind, growth, the beginners mind and opportunity to be able to see out of the box… to not only dare to be different but to be excited about the possibilities of creation when you identify yourself as a black sheep you. Loved this book.
