Acerca de esta escucha

Two nuclear wars. Three asteroids. Demonic madness that kills one third of the world's population. Into this, a savior will rise, cloned from Christ. It's not fiction. It's prophecy.

The Messiah of the New Age. His coming is prophesied by more than a dozen major religions. Cloned from live cells of Jesus Christ found on the Shroud of Turin, Christopher Goodman was born into the most turbulent time in human history. Already two nuclear holocausts have shaken the planet - the first destroying much of the Russian Republic, and the second killing nearly a billion people in China, India, and Pakistan. Unknown to the world's inhabitants, an even greater threat is waiting just beyond Earth's horizon - a threat that may annihilate the entire human race. Three asteroids are hurtling toward the planet, thrown from their orbits by the supernatural powers of two religious madmen, one who claims to be the 2000-year-old Apostle John. Fated to remain alive from biblical times until Christ's return, the Apostle John has awaited fulfillment of the visions he described in the book of Revelation. But John and his cohort, apostate Hasidic rabbi Saul Cohen, are not satisfied to merely witness the Apocalypse - they intend to cause it.

Though Christopher can stop the destruction, he must allow it to happen, for he says that scattered throughout the Bible and other religious texts are clues pointing to an incredible hidden truth - a secret of devastating universal importance that reveals the astonishing future of man and the true nature of God. It is far more than life and death that hang in the balance. It is the fulfillment of galactic destiny, humankind's final evolutionary step: the birth of a New Age!

Story and Performance is amazing! Both author and narrator have done excellent jobs; entertaining! It really makes me think of the end times soon coming.

Performance

Worst narrator ever. He actually ruined the book. I’m not sure how the author approved this absurdity.

Terrible narrator.

The story is entertaining, if a little simplistic in style, but somewhat inspirational. The narrator however totally ruined this book series for me with his shrill falsetto buffoonish portrayal of women’s voices to his cartoonish attempts at various male voices. It would’ve been better had he just read it straight out.

Fairly good Book totally ruined by the narrator

liked it

I can absolutely see the world of today falling the same line. Know you Bible, know your God. Then enjoy the telling of what may come.

Better be solid before your start

I Loved this book. Although fiction I can relate more to the book of revelations n the Bible. As scary as the times a lot of events in this book are in the current news. This is where we are!!!

How the author takes the book of revelations and presents it in present tense

What made the experience of listening to Birth of an Age the most enjoyable?

The fact that there was much less "dialogue" and more "narration" (that didn't require VOICES) in this book than the last.

How could the performance have been better?

Ray Porter.

Who was the most memorable character of Birth of an Age and why?

Eh. Considering the point of the book, I can't see that this is a really answerable question.

Story is Entertaining

his female voices make me cringe. also he makes Christopher sound prepubescent way into his 30s

dude needs a female co narrator

I read this book and the other 2 books in the Trilogy series over 20 years ago, and loved all of them. When I saw that the series was in Audible I bought them to enjoy the books again. I was NOT happy with the narrator's performance at all! The way he changed his voice, tone, pitch for the female and male characters was simply horrible, which was nothing more than a distraction to my listening and butchery to the story. I will NOT purchase another audio book if Kevin O'Brien is the narrator, no matter how much I want the book!

Great Story, but HORRIBLE Performance
