Caleb Mercer, the best mountain rescue specialist in the Cascades, knows some calls are a death sentence. When a lone hiker vanishes on Mount Hood just as the storm of the century is about to hit, Caleb’s gut tells him to stay home. He’s already brought one ghost down from that mountain, and he has no desire to create another.

But when the sheriff pleads for his help, Caleb assembles a small, desperate team for a rescue that’s already a suicide mission. The brutal, unnatural storm is the least of their worries. As they ascend, they find signs that something else is using the blizzard as a cloak.
