A Light to My Path

Many parents and teachers know that: “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim 3:16-17) And, they want to present appropriate editions of the Bible to those in their care. Yet, they sometimes find it difficult to locate texts that reflect the true glory and majesty of God’s word in a format that is accessible to young readers. Sensing a great need and wishing to lead young hearts to the Savior, Bishop Richard Gilmour (1824-1891) wrote Bible Stories for Youth, Old Testament — volume one in a ten-part series, subtitled A Light to My Path. The effect of his labor is a work that will bless millions of young souls for generations to come. This volume is supplemented with 88 illustrations; and in-line references are presented as endnotes. All Scripture is updated from The New Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition, 1989.
