This is an inspiring story of the author pursuing the American dream. The author held my attention with funny and relatable stories. I highly recommend this book.

Ali’s story is honest and compelling. His perspective as an immigrant from a Muslim nation is eye opening. As a fellow believer, I also found his testimony challenging. Just a great book!

A perfect book for people who want to move to USA

The author Ali master wrote a good book depicting his own experiences moving from Pakistan to USA. The book is overall good and the real-life experiences make it better for us to relate to the author.

Before diving into this book, judging by the title I had no idea what to expect.
Beyond the Golden Door written by Ali Master was by far extremely intriguing. I was not at all prepared for what this book had in store for me.
Ali Master tells his story. A beautiful life story of a Pakistani boys journey through life. Ali Master presents a story cultural shocks, love, and Spiritual beliefs surely to touch the hearts of anyone who reads this book. I was very pleased with this read. I love how Ali Master presented his life’s adventures as he grew to be the person he is today. The Author Ali Master did such a spectacular job making me laugh, as well as shocking me to the point I’m holding my hand over my mouth just thinking, that did not just happen!!
Ali Master showed me a different perspective to this world. From childhood, teen years, and up with trials and tribulations of faith, family, love and beliefs. There are so many beautiful things about our world, but there are also many ugly things about it as well.
It took courage to write a book telling the world one’s life story. I admire the strength and passion Ali Master put into the making of every page that tells his story. There is probably many people in the world that don’t know what it’s like to be poor, rich, lucky or unlucky. Ali Master gives a very well look into giving the reader a different view . At times it was a little hard to follow, but all in all I enjoyed this read. I give it a 3 out of 4 stars . I encourage anyone looking for a book on freedom, love, faith, and spiritual beliefs plus more in this book Beyond the Golden Door.

Compelling life story that Leo me listening intently

This book a so incredible. The story makes us realize the hardships many of our valuable immigrants face as they journey through our country.

Listening to Ali Master’s life in first person was amazing!

I really enjoyed listening to the author read “Beyond the Golden Door”. That made it more personable to me. I listened intently to Ali’s personal biography as he described going from a rich and luxurious lifestyle to just a normal one where he would have to serve himself in his various daily duties. He tells about coming to America and enjoying new found freedoms. Meeting the love of his life was a great part of the book. I enjoy how he involved the reader with questions for myself to answer and ponder on.  Y’all should get this book! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Humbling!

I want to start off by saying that I wanted to select a book to read and review that was outside of my usual horror and sci-fi book habits, and I'm so glad that I did! There are some books out there that will, without a doubt, humble you and make you appreciate everything that you have in life. I want to give this book a 4 out of 5 rating. Here’s why:

This book is a memoir of the author’s personal testimony on the “American Dream” as a Pakistani immigrant. The book is broken up into three parts that outline the author’s departure from their home country, arriving to the US, and experiencing the US and its freedoms and everything that can come with it: good and bad.

I really like how the author is extremely relatable in many ways, but there are also many ways in which they are not relatable to me personally. That’s actually what kept me interested in continuing this story. The author explaining life in Pakistan made me somehow feel their struggle. Not empathetically, but through their words and feelings conveyed in the book. I felt the frustration that the author must have felt while facing road block after road block in life on the journey to America and even after arriving. We sometimes forget as Americans the magnitude of the freedoms and access to resources that we have. Things that might not seem natural rights to us, such as who we marry, being in a democracy, fair trials, choice of career, religion, can be life or death for someone in a different country. Religion is a topic that is heavily discussed in this book and I definitely related to the religious struggle as well.

I could talk on and on about the topics discussed in this book, but I won’t in order to prevent from revealing spoilers. The author speaks in a clear, concise, and easily understandable method. The author also has sense of humor that I found delightful while reading.

At the end of the book, it left me with the question in my mind of if the author really and truly found their “American Dream” or not. We will leave that up to the readers to decide!

I really enjoyed this book that was outside of my comfort zone, and I plan to read more just like it!

An engaging personal story of love redemption and grace - Must read!

The author beautifully brings out the significance of the freedoms we take for granted everyday, and protections offered by the statues of this country. To love your God and your country.
The authors personal journey towards Christ skillfully woven into this narrative gives hope and strength to look forward in life in spite of personal failures.

Important words lost in a tin can

The production quality detracts from the message. While it is great to hear an author’s voice, sometimes it would be best to hire a professional to read to convey the appropriate message
