Inside, he finds more than food, shelter, and the remnants of a secret military program. He finds Henry—a creature never meant to outlive the apocalypse. Engineered for intelligence, obedience, and war, Henry is a dinosaur unlike anything the broken world should still contain. Dangerous, watchful, and strangely loyal, he becomes the boy’s only real companion.
But the bunker is hiding more than one secret, and they are not alone for long.
As old experiments come to light and violent men begin hunting the lab for what lies within, the boy must decide who to trust, what Henry truly is, and how far he will go to protect the one living thing that chose him back.
