Resumen del Editor

A powerful tale of miracles that occur when individuals quit fighting for airspace and come together in shared exploration

Marjorie Veil is running again. But this time, she's not running from herself. She's running to embrace her past so she may move on with her future, one that includes a man and an orphaned boy who both love her. But in order to build a life with them, she must have the strength to defy the expectations of her overprotective adoptive mother, and she must be steadfast in deciphering the veiled messages coming from the Native American woman who died giving her birth.

Marjorie's quest is the story of the soul trying to break free of its conditioned restraints to live a life of freedom, courage, and authenticity, and focus on what is really important in her precious present moments.

An eye-opening alternative view of Alzheimer’s disease

What if we viewed the terrible neurodegenerative disease of Alzheimer’s in a new light, with the idea of going back to a collective mind shared with nature and God, connecting everything with spirit? This is demonstrated through a character named Adam, who creates life-sized clay sculptures based on memories of his loved ones, and whose decline is palliated by living in nature and being overseen by a compassionate nurse.

The award-winning author of the Enter the Between visionary fiction series has conjured up a tale of transformational healing, arising from 10 years of research into contemporary paganism, holistic theory, quantum mechanics, and transpersonal psychology, which takes listeners deep into the depths of consciousness to the unified field underlying physical existence, where separateness is an illusion.

More is Revealed

Marjorie continues her journey of self discovery with the help of her sister Veronica and the spiritual guidance of a nurse and former nun named Ann. Ms. Duarte explains the wican practices of appreciation of the elements and how they relate to the understanding of God. Marjorie remains open to learning how her Catholic beliefs and practices enable her to encorporate the teachings and beliefs of her native ancestors.
Narrator Kristen Simoes provides great narration of this book.

Another Insightful Visionary Adventure

BETWEEN DARKNESS AND DAWN is another insightful visionary adventure from author, Margaret Duarte. In this sequel, her spiritual pilgrim, Marjorie Veil, finds herself walking the periphery of her life in ever tightening circles on a perilous path to self-discovery.

Against the wishes of her conservative Catholic adoptive mother, Marjorie explores the sacred rituals of the Native American Esalen tribe to which her deceased birth mother, Antonia, belonged. Her journey inward is populated by guides who challenge Marjorie’s conventional upbringing with practices like shamanic dancing, rhythmic drums, and mysterious Wiccan rituals. Through these guides she discovers the alchemy of art, sculpture, dancing, and the power of a fired kiln as means for transformation. The author very courageously explores connections to the spirit world made possible by neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer’s. Diseases that, in breaking down the mind, may harness the potential of unbounded spiritual frontiers.

The narrator, Kristen Simoe’s sonorous voice and Duarte’s accessible writing make this audiobook a worthy and pleasurable listen that will challenge and excite those on any level of spiritual quest.

Simply beautiful!

This book is a true transformational adventure, through the mind and body, on the way to self-discovery. Marjorie Veil continues her journey of enlightenment in an attempt to, not only find herself, but find her birth mother as the spirit she presents herself. Why is she crying and what does she want Marjorie to do for her? Anne, who can best be described as a type of Mother Earth, continues on the journey, giving Marjorie little nuggets of encouragement along the way. "This is about discovering your real self and not a hollow imitation." Each new character brings another opportunity for stretching the boundaries of her rational mind, and Adam provides an understanding and hope for an alternate, gentle way to help Alzheimer's patients through each phase at the end of their lives. Marjorie's mother speaks to her again, and this time it's to find her birth father to understand her past and to bring her mother peace. This is a beautiful story and I'm anxious to see where Marjorie goes from here.
The narration is exemplary, and Kristin Simoes clearly and dynamically gives each character a distinct voice and personality.
