Jonas thought he was done with danger when he returned from Cairo. He had won against an ancient evil possessing his professor, and his eyes had been opened to the world of magic, which was all around him, but hidden from everyday life. College called, and he was ready to be normal again. With Lily by his side, and the prophetic dreams seemingly gone, life was looking good.

Then, during a favor for his mentor, he is shot and nearly dies. All over a simple journal. Now, he has to unravel the mystery behind the journal, find the mystical treasure it mentions, and return to civilization, all without losing his sanity—or his life.
