This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... Faithful retelling of the original
What was one of the most memorable moments of Beowulf: Dragon Slayer?

I listened to this alongside an unabridged audio of the original; my 12-year-old daughter enjoyed it as well. Sutcliff's retelling is vigorous, engaging, and faithful to the original. The reader is very good and really brought the story to life.

THE LEGEND COMES ALIVE!
Wonderful adaptation of this legendary tale of literature by Rosemary Sutcliff. The text is intact and unabridged. The sound recording and the editing seemed top quality without any noticeable distractions to pull the reader away from the story. And Sean Barrett’s passionate narration breathed so much tangible LIFE into this classic tale! I felt like an invisible witness to the events as he described them. Highly Recommended for ALL fans of Legends, Myths and Folklore regardless of age. Excellent listen!
