The Unified Civilized Council, which has ruled for over a hundred million years has discovered new species in the Long Dark. A strange and unknown species that seem to have no rhyme or reason about them with strange technology and hints of even more in the shadows.

Compounding the problem is the reappearance of the ancient Precursor Autonomous War Machines, woken up from tens of thousands of years of offline status due to incursions into their territory.

Even worse is the fact that the newly discovered Terran Confederacy of Aligned Systems appear to be the only force capable of stopping the murderous robotic starships, some the size of small continents.

None of that matters, as the Unified Council sees the Terran Confederacy as a threat to their own power.

The first book in the Behold Humanity! series, this covers the initial meetings as well as the initial battles between the living and the terrible machines.

Shown from multiple alien viewpoints, including alien viewpoints, the series is vast and is over 1,000 chapters in rough draft form.

The rough draft for the series has been completely finished and is in editing. This series will not be dropped partway through, as the writing has finished. It currently stands at 1,000+ chapters and nearly 3.5 million words.

this book has made me laugh, cry, wonder and feel emotions and themes that have helped me grow as a person and deal with a lot of my own baggage and trauma growing up. I found it on YouTube originally and after raltz sold things to you guys I was hoping to finish it on here....but the A.I. narrator is a insult to the very digital sentients this very book depicts let alone the countless voices within that this books A.i. is just not prepared to cover honest or faithfully and I waiting over 6 hours just to voice this. I hope someone important sees this, hell I would pay someone to narrate it just get it right cause well I wholeheartedly believe everyone should least have the chance to hear it the way I was intended

fell in love with the story listening to Agro squirrel narration. AI narrator needs to work on pronunciation A little bit more

Overall great 👍

Story is amazing! Narration not so much as it had poor pronunciation of species and most anacronyms, especially V.I.
Though the virtual reader detracted from the listening, the story more than makes up for it.
Wordsmith may you always find invitation to enter and thank you for this interesting universe.

Wonderful story great universe

This is the Virtual Voice version of Part One of a series I greatly enjoyed reading.

The Virtual Voice sadly suffers from Artificial Stupid and so listening to this one may find many more annoying error spikes throughout, compared to if it was performed by an average human audio narrator.

I'd say the Virtual Voice AI programming still needs to be improved. A lot!

That said, with some forbearance and this knowledge in mind, this isn't awful. Even though it may actually make this specific work of fiction harder to parse at times.

I love this series and have since I first saw it on HFY back before the coof, the audio reader is pretty good but it tends to screw up when it gets to the Gestalt conversations

I love this series

I would say this is a great military sci fi that balance the humor and intensity of situations, all in all a good book, my only complaint is the person speaking, I believe it's a.i., so what can you do but it is not the worse thing so I would recommend it

the fact that humanity was competent and the good guys

The story is extremely enjoyable, one of my all time favorites. The AI narration is awful, sounding stilted and constantly getting things wrong.

Amazing Story

Love that story comes from aliens p.o.v. and golden age hero is my favorite. The A.I does mess up when it goes to a new paragraph. Messing up the first word sometimes. A great story can't wait for more.

A great new space war story

Virtual voice needs work on pronouncing and emotion in reading other than that the story is amazing

The story is amazing

The book is great, but the Virtual Voice narration it terrible. Zero emotion/inflection (example: a bubbly kid begging daddy for something is read "Please, daddy.....please......please.....please" instead of how it is written "Please daddy, Please, please, please."

Book good, Narration bad.
