Narrator Choice

Please bring back the narrator who performed "Tempting Tanya." I am thrilled Audible chose to continue with the series, but let's be real, virtual voice doesn't do this series justice.

Storyline

It was a great storyline, but I'm not fond of virtual voice narration. It leaves a lot to be desired.

Much to Learn from this Story

Beguiling Betty illustrates the layers of complexities that make people’s prejudices, egos, and upbringing reluctant to EXPLORE new adventures. Throughout the story Betty was annoying, even after learning of her abusive marriage. Billy represented the typical knight in shining armor, which annoyed me😏 which says more about me than the character.

I am learning it’s these type of topics that make me revisit Kimberly Smith’s stories. Her Black female seems to always lean towards a certain societal trope about “sisters” and the men belong to a “brotherhood” that always love them in a way that is healing. Beguiling Betty went in hard on this theme.

I would appreciate the annoying AI generated virtual voice more if male and female characters were represented.

Waste of time

Not a good story. Black FMC was just bitter and really unlikable. I am the love interest was kind of clueless. No black women wants a white man she has to teach. No it’s exhausting. Over all this book, gets a hard pass.
