And since that wasn’t her only careless mistake, it’s not long before she finds herself alone, miserable and quite possibly unemployed. To distract herself from heartbreak, she flies from Ireland to Chicago to support her family. On her return, her secret dream comes true when Patrick wants to rekindle their romance.

But to her surprise, terms and conditions are attached as he embarks on a local political campaign. As pressure mounts, their renewed relationship becomes strained. And when the media makes false claims, Elva questions the integrity of the whole campaign.

Armed with a few targeted therapy sessions, she begins to assert her independence and newfound principles. But with a boyfriend who refuses to engage, together with problematic future in-laws, Elva reconsiders the prospect of marriage for the first time since Patrick’s proposal.
