Acerca de esta escucha
In this extensively researched Revolutionary War historical fiction novel, award-winning author and lawyer Stephen Yoch presents the thrilling story of America’s most notorious traitor.
Benedict Arnold was one of America’s greatest heroes and perhaps the best tactical general of the Revolution. Arnold was totally committed to the Cause. Indisputably brave, he won pivotal battles against British forces that saved the Revolution. Yet, horrible wounds, a loyalist bride, and nasty political infighting all drove him into the welcoming arms of the British.
This first-person account explains why Arnold chose treason and betrayal over a country he once loved.
Stephen Yoch’s award-winning debut novel, Becoming George Washington, has sold over ten thousand copies. Returning fans will love Yoch’s masterful presentation of true, but little-known stories from American history.

Good story, held my interest
If you like reading about the American Revolution, this is an interesting read. It shows the viewpoint of some of the leaders from the viewpoint of a very brave and flawed Benedict Arnold.

An intriguing and enjoyable read
Hearing the story of Benedict Arnold in first person reveals a much different angle than what we've been taught in history classes. This story adds many dimensions to the common narrative, from his childhood family dynamics to the development of personal strengths and their equal liabilities. The author and voice performer both captured the leadership capabilities, heroics, self-righteousness, arrogance, and entitlement driven by a sense of victimization in all of their subtlety. The story also presents a more human side of not only Arnold, but Washington, the Continental Congress, and other central figures in the Revolution. Finally, this telling brings more of an understanding of the role possibly played by Peggy Shippen in the unfolding of Arnold's treason. Highly recommended!

A better insight to Benedict Arnold the person and the persona.
Sometimes biographies are too heavy on the play by play of battle scenes. Those victories and losses are important but I prefer to want to know a bit more about the person. This book gives a little more info into personal interactions. I can't help but feel that most research about Benedict Arnold comes down to battle field description, some minor journal entries by major historical persons and perhaps a few personal correspondences. In biographies of George Washington there's little to no mention of Benedict Arnold and his significance to the war. Everything else about Benedict Arnold seems to be a lot of hypotheticals
