 Unhappy college sophomore Chandler Weitz has to change his life. To have any chance at happiness he needs two things, and he has to have them right away. He needs a girlfriend and a summer job.

He more or less blunders into romance when a free-thinking redhead decides to take him home with her after a party. He has no idea what he’s getting into when she introduces him to her wildly unconventional friends, but he blithely joins in with them just for the chance to be with her.

He even blunders into his summer job. Chandler and some friends sing in an amateur doo-wop group that a talented coach turns into a bankable property. The Bear Rock Boys write a few songs of their own, and one of them makes a minor splash on the Philadelphia music scene.

Chandler might be on his way to success in both love and show business. Unfortunately being wildly unconventional can get you in all kinds of trouble.
