Before you diagnose yourself with depression… first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounded by assholes."
-William Gibson
"Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it."
-Elizabeth Gilbert
When I ask those who know me what I should write a book about, they nearly always say that I should write a book about my battle with depression.
I will be honest, since the age of 15, I have fought depression. Only in the past few years have I conquered it. I won't go into all the details about the multiple hospitalizations over the years, the doctors experimenting with various medications to see what worked, the psychiatrists and psychologists, and the various highs and lows that accompany any mental illness, but I will say this.
Depression sucks and I wouldn't wish what I have gone through on anyone.
Through trial and error (mostly error), I have discovered ways to beat depression.
For anyone else going through it, here is a list of things I have incorporated into my toolkit to overcome it.
In this e-book, I reveal 27 ways in which I have conquered depression. Took me 23 years, but I'm here... literally.
This includes:
- Finding a place to belong.
- Getting plenty of sunlight.
- Exercise.
- Staying hydrated.
- Probiotics such as yogurt.
- Discovering your strengths.
- Avoiding negativity.
- Meditation
- And practicing gratitude.
If you're looking for tips on how to deal with depression, this eBook will show you the way.
