Found the cadence of narrative too predictable
Disliked the narrator's measured cadence which could be soothing should a soporific be needed. Instead of hearing words I got stuck in a rise and fall in tn

A wonderful little Hardy gem...
in the Gothic style, something of a departure for him, but this story is wonderfully engaging and bizarre, worthy of Hawthorne or even Poe.
