Lachlan Downy was a lover, not a fighter. Okay, he wouldn't lie, he was a fighter, too. But nobody had to know that. Especially not Memphis Tennessee Conner and her stuffy attitude when it came to cops and "men like him".
Memphis knew cops. Her daddy was a cop. He was also the president of a motorcycle club. Needless to say, he's about as alpha as they come, and she's tired of overbearing men who think they know how to run her life better than she does.
So when Downy comes into her life running his smooth talking mouth, she realizes that she'll have to stand strong against his pretty words and promises to give her what she needs.
Downy is determined, though. He's the hostage negotiator for KPD SWAT, and he's never met a person, man or woman, he couldn't talk around into his way of thinking.
Although, Memphis is about to show him just how much he miscalculated.

Good listen
Enjoyed this age gap romance audio a lot. Again these books tend to get a little dark so check trigger warnings and proceed with caution. Loved the incorporation of the other characters and can’t wait to hear their stories!

Loved it
Narration is perfection. Mason and Kendall are perfect together. The story was most entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have listened to this at least 3 times and I know I will be enjoying it many more times. It makes me smile. Loved Memphis. She had spunk! The romance had just enough angst to keep it interesting.

Wow!
I love the story line and the characters in the story. I laugh and cry with them. I find myself wanting to visit Kilgore Texas just to meet the characters in the book

Downy & Memphis
Downy, Downy..Downy. Be still my beating heart. He has intrigued me for a while now. He has always been a little mean but has a sarcastic humor that just draws you in. In enters Memphis and Lachlan(Downy) becomes someone different. He still has his sense of humor that is a perfect match to Memphis' wit. This was a fun, entertaining and humorous story. I loved it

Loved it !! this story. the narrator is so fantastic it's like your really there!! After listening to this story,. I totally enjoyed reading this book. It’s well written and the characters were uniquely fantastic. I would suggest this book to my friends that like this sort of genera. this was a good book. The narrator was great.

One of my favorite books!
Another amazing book from Lani! I have a soft spot for highlander Downey. Memphis is hilarious with her “no cops.”
