Love/Hate/Love

Duncan Prescott, Kallestra Spencer did a great job narrating Blake and Dakota. Dakota finally is forced to come home for her grandma's funeral, and she can't avoid her past any longer. Blake and Dakota had been best friends for their whole lives until they fell in love and decided to plan a future. When "betrayal" and perceived "betrayal" led to anger and hurt it takes longer to heal. This is a quick listen with lots of great moments with characters you love while falling in love with new characters. I found myself laughing and smiling throughout this one!

This book was such a sweet second chance listen. 🎧 the chemistry between the characters through the narrators was palpable.

Blake x Dakota - Their passion was desperate, their story divine. They may have spent years apart but their souls never forgot what home felt like.

Wonderful characters!

Good story! At times I was so frustrated with Dakota! I thought clearly he is a good guy trying to fix the wrong….wake up girl! I loved when he was wooing her again…so much fun! The secondary characters are wonderful, from the parents to the families all nice additions. Not sure who is next but I look forward to it. The narrators do a great job and I enjoyed listening to them.

SHE says he cheated on her, breaking her heart forever & she took off. HE says there was no cheating, and she left for no reason. Eleven years later, they’re in the same tiny town and can’t seem to stay apart …

I enjoyed how they sorta butted heads, but then the miscomm wasn’t too dragged out. Enjoyed the ‘everyone knows everyone’ / small town vibes.

Overall:
A short, super sweet, small town, contemporary romance. The perfect companion for some mundane work, or exercise ;) .

One of my favorite stories by one of my favorite authors. Duncan and Kallestra do a fantastic job bringing Blake and Dakota to life. I could feel their pain, struggles and chemistry. I know some people aren't audiobook fans, but myself, I'm a sucker for them. Especially if the narrators are great. These two were perfect for Back to Us.

The storyline itself will tug on your heartstrings. High school sweethearts who break up over a huge misunderstanding and spend eleven years apart. A death in the family finally brings Dakota home after all this time. Trying her best to avoid Blake, it just wasn't in the cards. What was? Fate stepping in and reminding them both why neither have ever settled down. They belong together. Great story!! All the stars!

Great Listen. Narrators did a great job.
I enjoyed listening to these two story. High School Sweethearts, a misunderstanding which results into each blaming each other. Dakota staying away for a long time until the death of a loved one brings her back. Between the chemistry, the airing out the events that caused their breakup, the other characters and throw in an adorable child made this book interesting and entertaining.

Book 2 - Cameron Falls

This is book 2 in Matson's Cameron Falls series. A wonderful addition to the series that can easily be read / listened to as a standalone. This is a second chance romance with main characters Blake and Dakota. These two were sweethearts from an early age and a massive mis understanding drove a wedge that lasted over a decade. Dakota fled her small town and didn't come back until a beloved family member passed and upon her return she realized that her small town is the home she's been searching for since she left. I love the supportive characters in this book as well. The dual narration was wonderfully done and really brought our characters and this story to life. I thought it was a well-balanced and smooth flowing story with a perfect HEA! Definitely looking forward to more in this series and from Matson!

A second chance story that captivated me

A second chance story that captivated me as Blake and Dakota struggle with their anger and love that never died. I admit, when the whole truth was revealed I wanted to berate Dakota for letting her emotions skew things and thus breaking everyone's heart, but I know hindsight is 20/20 and all that. Blake stole my heart, he was so dedicated to Dakota and I was rooting for him so hard to convince her to give them what they deserved-that HEA. I laughed and even hurt with them as the story unfolded, with the narrators doing an amazing job at bringing these characters and their emotions to life.

Fabulous Story & Listen! Riveting & Emotional!

It is great to be back in TC Matson’s Cameron Falls for another wonderful novel, a small town, second chance romance that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. Dakota Jayne and Blake Helms’ romance started before high school, and they became each other’s everything, but their relationship came to an abrupt ending after a falling out and a heartbreaking misunderstanding. Dakota left for college and did not return home for eleven years, only returning for her grandmother’s funeral. She had to face her past and her ex, Blake, who stayed in Cameron Falls and remained friendly with her family. Their icy reunion went as well as expected, but it was clear there were unresolved feeling going on behind the anger and the pain, also clear that they never got over one another. I was rooting for these two, especially after finding out the reason for their breakup. This well-written and wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, some heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions, and a fabulous second chance romance. TC Matson, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Duncan Prescott and Kallestra Spencer did a fantastic of bringing these characters to life, and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagine the characters to sound. Both nailed it in the two lead roles, embodying their character’s personality completely. They conveyed all the characters’ emotions in their performance, a captivating performance that rivets you to the story. Prescott and Spencer are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

Second chances

The last person she wants to see is Blake. When they finally come face to face, Dakota is confused by his hatred toward her and she wants answers. When Blake explains what really happened, Dakota realizes that what she once believed was not the truth at all. The love they once had never waivered and Blake is determined to show Dakota what their life could be if she'd only move back to Cameron Falls. Second chance HEA.
