About the Author

Javier Nodras is a Spanish writer, engineer, and economist whose fiction moves fluidly between the tender and the grotesque. His short story collection Ellas, mis uñas, y otros relatos won the Premio Internacional de Relatos Villa de Rentería for its title story, and has been praised for its unflinching blend of dark comedy and psychological horror. Nodras is also the author of the poetry collection El zoo ajedrecístico: Poemas de ajedrez para niños de 9 a 99 años, a playful exploration of chess through verse for readers young and old. An amateur chess player himself, he lives and writes in Spain.
