He’s Just Some Guy is a banter-packed, bisexual love-triangle rom-com set in a contemporary Indian American community where a meticulously planned life crashes headfirst into the beautiful chaos of unexpected connection.

Simran Chopra is going to be a successful musician if it kills her. After all, her parents taught her to follow her dreams and always work to be the best. And she's doing it! If only her mother's sister would stop bothering her with old-fashioned ideas about needing a boyfriend. To get her masi off her back, Simran decides to make up a boyfriend. She needs a pic to really sell it, so she finds one on the internet. Her fake boyfriend? Kabir Mehra. As the lead singer of an obscure indie rock band who's somehow always touring, but also has plentiful photos online to steal from, he's perfect.

It's all smooth sailing... that is, until an auntie shows up to a wedding function with Kabir Mehra in tow.

Turns out Kabir is a true rock and roll frontman—pure chaos and happy to play along with the fake relationship for the fun of it. As Simran spends time with him, she's surprised by how much she enjoys his company. Then she meets his band. And she meets her. Kabir's drummer, Amrita—effortlessly cool, instinct-driven, and completely uninterested in making plans or charts.

Suddenly, Simran finds herself torn between Kabir's charm and her quiet connection with Amrita. She tries to take a page from the way they live, to just be in the moment. But for all the ways these new relationships are changing her, they really don't fit into her carefully constructed life. Soon she's dealing with missing application deadlines and worried parents. Simran has to decide what's most important to her; sticking to a plan or enjoying life without one.
