I can scarcely remember a time when Star Trek wasn’t a part of my life. I first saw it at age six, embraced it not long after that, and it’s been with me ever since, in all its many forms.

And in the decades I’ve been a writer, I’ve had a lot to say about Trek. There’s my personal history with it, of course, but my career has included both technology development and behavioral science – and I found space to write about Trek there, too. Then there’s my Trek fandom, which persists to this day, and my dutiful raising of my own children to love it. I’ve gathered lots of that writing here in this collection.

My personal journey with Trek and lifelong fandom memories come from Baby Boomer Fanboy. The tech stuff, reflecting my AI background, is from The AIs and Androids of Star Trek. I pulled some essays from my books Chasing the Enterprise and Star Trek and Humanism to weigh in on anthropological and philosophical matters. And the raising of my kids on Trek is excerpted from Building a Nerd.

And some of the essays herein I just wrote because I felt like writing them, rather than for a book – “Dark Trek” and “The New Borg Queen” and an essay on J.J. Abrams, and a few others.

I’ve also included some casual photos to demonstrate my Trek bona fides, pics that will resonate with any reader who, like me, grew up on the Enterprise. I hope all of this makes for fun reading and some revisiting of fond memories!
