Even though mushrooms have been around since literally the beginning of time...it took time for Americans to accept and become accustomed to mushrooms. In the cookbook "The Virginia Housewife," mushrooms are mentioned for the first time in America (1824). Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup, a classic American staple for casserole recipes, was created in the 1930s. The 2019 documentary "fantastic fungi" is an incredible time-lapse journey about the magical, mysterious and medicinal world of fungi.
