North Koreans grow up being told two things: Americans are their enemy, and Christianity is dangerous.
Earlier this year, eight people from Washington Heights Church traveled halfway around the world to Southeast Asia to meet North Korean refugees who had escaped one of the most oppressive regimes on earth.
What happened next surprised everyone.
They cooked meals together.
They sang songs together.
They shared stories of trauma, survival, and hope.
And on a beach, several of the refugees made a decision that none of us expected.
In this episode, Sean Milner sits down with members of the team who experienced the trip firsthand to talk about the moments that changed them forever.
This isn’t a political story.
It’s a human one.
