The Sweet Scent of Blood

In Rome, inexplicable, bloodthirsty murders of young girls take place. They all have one thing in common: they have red hair and are extremely pretty.

Soon the first dead girls turn up in Paris or London. An investigation reveals that all were with a man shortly before their deaths and share the same fatal bite wounds.

The public is shocked. It's whispered that vampires get around. Families lock up their young daughters to protect them and the police investigation is in full swing.

Maren also gets a nightly visit from a stranger who breaks into her bedroom and seduces her. Barely escaping before the vampire can bite her, she flees the city and tries to find out more about the mysterious bloodsuckers.
