A powerful cyclone system has struck the Pacific Islands, forcing Australian tourists in Fiji into 24-hour lockdown with evacuations taking place across parts of the island. Sydney resident Katie Lowe and her family sheltered in their beach hut at Vomo Island during extreme winds and rain, with staff drilling down their door and providing emergency support. The cyclone system is also forecast to move towards far north Queensland.
