The scarier warning is the one you already understand but choose to ignore. Daniel 5 drops us into Babylon at the exact moment arrogance peaks: Belshazzar throws a lavish feast, parades stolen sacred vessels, and praises lifeless idols while the Medes and Persians surround the city.
