From Failure to Master Artist: The Untold Story of Arthur Norby : The Artist You Never Knew: Autobiography of Arthur Norby
Arthur Norby is a successful artist who has spent more than four decades doing sculputures, painting and more recently publishing his two novels. This is his story of failures and successes, of good luck and bad. Moreover, it is the previously untold and unique journey of artist Arthur Norby. His life story is told not only through his successes, but also through his failures, with all the warts, wrinkles and mistakes laid bare. The author digs deep within his memories as he tells the story of life begun in a tar paper shack. After eighty years he looks back at the moments which define his life as an artist and entrepreneur.
Arthur Norby has written and published nine mystery novels and two autobiographical books: JOURNEY, THE ART OF ARTHUR NORBY and THE ARTIST YOU NEVER KNEW, as well as designing numerous promotional booklets, programs, and exhibition catalogues. THE DEADLLY WINTER is the foundation of the Tom Hall Mystery series of historical novels. The Deadly Winter, written in 198, languished in a notebook until 2015, when it was published in paperback on Amazon.
Each of the nine current novels is set in a separate time and anchored in rural Minnesota. Although the books are offered in a series, each also reads independently, beginning in 1938, with THE DDEADLY WINTER.
For greatest enjoyment, it is recommended the books be read in the sequence in which they were written, which is: THE DEADLY WINTER, THE LEGACY OF MAXIMILLIAN BAUER, VENDETTA, WE ALL DIE ALONE, KILLING ADAM, THE HOUSE ON WINDERMERE ROAD, THE MONEY GAME, THE PUDDING GRASS MURDERS, NEVER PERSONAL. Beginning in 2026, these novels will be available in hardcover, paperback, and on Kindle.
In addition to being a successful author, Arthur has had a fifty-year careen as a painter and sculptor. Born in Montevideo, Minnesota December 25, 1937, he has resided in Chandler, Arizona since 2016. He is a retired U.S. Navy veteran and began his art career in 1976, at the age of thirty-eight. He opened his first art gallery in 1979 and maintained art galleries in Willmar, Spicer, New London, Afton, and Granite Falls, Minnesota, as well as Seattle, Washington, Corvallis, Montana, and Scottsdale and Cave Creek, Arizona until 2010.
