Teen charged in deadly hit-and-run in Deptford

An 18-year-old driver has been charged with fatally striking a bicyclist in Deptford Monday night. The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said Iqrar Ahmed hit the victim along Delsea Drive around 8:30 p.m. and briefly stopped, thinking he had hit a rock or something else, but then continued driving home. Investigators said another driver initially hit the unidentified cyclist and knocked the victim into Ahmed’s path. That driver stayed on the scene. Ahmed returned to the scene about two hours later and told police what happened. Ahmed was charged with second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
