An estimated one in 500 people will be diagnosed with anal cancer during their lifetime. At least 20% of them will not learn of their cancer until it has metastasized. Dr. Wasif Saif, leader of the Gastrointestinal and Neuroendocrine Oncology Multidisciplinary Team, told WWJ's Christina McDaniel this is partly because people are too embarrassed to discuss the symptoms with their doctor.
