Violence against school principals by parents has surged dramatically across Australian government, Catholic and independent schools. Research from the Australian Catholic University reveals that between 39 and 75 per cent of school leaders experienced violence in the past year, representing a 150 per cent increase since 2011. Some principals have reported serious physical injuries including broken bones, cuts and severe bruising from parental attacks.
