Starting with Sonoma and Marin County, we're looking at a fun swell rolling in today with surf heights between four and seven feet. The wind will be light out of the northwest at nine miles per hour, picking up slightly to twelve by afternoon. Conditions are partly cloudy and mild with highs ranging from the low fifties to low eighties. If you're heading out, plan your timing around the tides. We've got a low at three thirty-three in the morning, a high at nine twenty-eight in the morning, another low at three fifty-eight in the afternoon, and a final high at ten fifty-two at night. Monday's looking pretty similar with the same four to seven foot surf, though mostly cloudy skies and slightly stronger northwest winds at thirteen miles per hour. Highs will be a touch cooler, ranging from the low fifties to low seventies.
Moving down the coast to San Francisco and San Mateo counties, today brings the same four to seven foot swell but with lighter winds starting at just three miles per hour out of the northwest before bumping up to eight. Water temperature here is a refreshing fifty-four degrees. Expect partly cloudy skies and highs between fifty-six and eighty-two degrees. The tide schedule matches what we're seeing to the north. Come Monday, the swell backs off slightly to three to six feet with mostly cloudy conditions and a bit more wind at eight to ten miles per hour. Highs will range from fifty-four to seventy-two.
Santa Cruz County surfers, today's your day with four to seven foot faces and water temperatures between fifty-five and fifty-seven degrees. Winds stay calm at three to eight miles per hour out of the northwest, and you're looking at partly cloudy skies with some warmth in the air. Highs will reach fifty-nine to eighty-five degrees. The tide pattern here differs slightly from the northern zones with an early morning low at two thirty-seven and a high at eight twenty-four. Monday sees the swell dial back to three to six feet with mostly cloudy conditions and similar light winds. Highs will be fifty-eight to seventy-seven.
Finally, Monterey Bay and Big Sur get the most mellow conditions of the forecast. Today brings three to five foot surf in partly cloudy skies with very light northerly winds between three and six miles per hour. Water temperatures run fifty-six to fifty-seven degrees, and highs will reach a pleasant sixty-two to eighty-five degrees. Monday's even smaller at two to four feet with mostly cloudy skies and those same light northerly winds. Highs drop to fifty-nine to seventy-seven degrees.
Overall, it's a great weekend for getting wet across the region with declining swell as we head into the new week. No thunderstorms are expected anywhere, so you can plan your beach days with confidence. Remember to check with your local authorities regarding any potential beach closures before you head out. Have fun out there!
