Daily Devotions_ Goshen vs the Promised Land - March 28, 2026

Deuteronomy 11:10–12 (ESV) - “For the land that you are entering to take possession of it is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and irrigated it, like a garden of vegetables. But the land that you are going over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water by the rain from heaven, a land that the Lord your God cares for. The eyes of the Lord your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall teaches the difference between the land of Goshen and the Promised Land. Goshen was a place of temporary provision, where people relied on their own effort to sustain what they had. But the Promised Land represents destiny, where God Himself watches over, provides, and works alongside His people. Pastor Sumrall reminds us that while God may bring us into seasons of abundance during difficult times, those seasons are not meant to be permanent. There comes a time to move forward into the life God has prepared, a place where His care, timing, and provision are evident in every season.
