Welcome back to Fort Worth Weather Daily! Man, do we have some interesting weather patterns setting up for the Cowtown area. Let me break down what's heading our way because things are definitely shifting over the next few days.
Right now, we're sitting pretty with mostly clear skies overnight and a low around 63 degrees Fahrenheit. But here's where it gets spicy! Friday's going to throw us a curveball. We're looking at increasing clouds with a twenty percent chance of showers after one in the afternoon. Temperatures will actually rise to near 73 Fahrenheit by mid-morning before taking a nosedive down to around 60 degrees. Now here's the kicker, it's going to get breezy out there with north winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour in the afternoon. I guess you could say the wind is really going to blow away any warm feelings we had earlier in the day!
Friday night, we're expecting a thirty percent chance of showers mainly before ten at night, with clouds sticking around and lows near 53 Fahrenheit. Those north-northeast winds will be gusting up to 35 miles per hour, so make sure anything loose outside gets secured.
Saturday calms things down a bit with mostly cloudy skies and highs near 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Perfect time to recover from all that wind!
Now let's shift gears to our Weather Playbook segment. I want to talk about wind gusts real quick because they're super important for understanding what you're actually going to experience. Wind gusts are those sudden, temporary increases in wind speed that can last from a few seconds to a minute. Think of them like the weather's way of throwing a surprise punch. When meteorologists like myself measure sustained winds, that's the average over ten minutes, but gusts spike way higher. Understanding this difference helps you prepare better because those gusts are what knock over trash cans and make walking a real adventure!
Alright, here's your three-day forecast at a glance: Friday brings showers and strong winds with highs near 60 Fahrenheit. Saturday stays mostly cloudy and cool at 60 Fahrenheit. Sunday? Oh boy, we're talking sunshine and warming up to 84 Fahrenheit with south winds. By Monday and Tuesday, we're looking at mostly sunny skies with highs climbing into the upper eighties Fahrenheit. It's going to feel pretty nice as we head into next week, folks.
