Martyrs Peter and Stephen of Kazan and the Forefeast of the Annunciation

Today we remember Martyr Peter of Kazan, a newly baptized Tatar who suffered for converting from Islam to Christianity. We also honor Martyr Stephen of Kazan, who endured great suffering for his faith after the Russian army left Kazan.In addition, we observe the Forefeast of the Annunciation, preparing for the celebration of the Archangel Gabriel's message to the Most Holy Theotokos. We also recall Venerable Zachariah the Recluse, Saint Artemon the Bishop of Seleucia, and Venerable Zachariah the Ascetic of the Kiev Caves.
