The Eighth Letter equips today's church leaders to "have an ear to hear" what Jesus says to their Local Church. In it you will:

- Gain practical insight into the Letters to the Seven Churches.
- Learn how Jesus speaks to and through your church body.
- Develop corporate spiritual discernment.
- Embark on a journey that holds the promise of transforming your ministry.

The Seven Letters to the Churches found in Revelation Two and Three show us how Jesus speaks to local churches and He wants every church leader to learn to hear and respond to what He says to them as a body.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

Dr. Kenneth Quick is Professor Emeritus of Practical Theology at Capital Seminary, an arm of Lancaster Bible College. He previously authored, Healing the Heart of Your Church, Body Aches, and coauthored The Dance of the Gifts: How Ministry Leaders Can Discern God’s Will. Ken serves as Director of Consulting for Blessing Point Ministries and previously was a pastor for 23 years.

Rev. Mark Barnard
serves as President of Blessing Point Ministries which facilitates breakthrough moments in ministry, particularly in the area of congregational healing. Mark previously authored Diagnosing the Heart of Your Church, Sustaining the Heart of Your Church, The Path of Revival, Joseph Unrobed and Screwtape vs. the Church. Mark has served in a variety of ministry roles spanning 35 years.

ENDORSEMENTS:

This is one of those "Why didn't somebody tell me this thirty years ago?" books. The Eighth Letter is a refreshing but sobering examination of today's Church. The authors show us Jesus' deep love for every church - in spite of their flaws - and his jealousy for a pure and blameless Bride. Solid exposition of each of the seven letters to the churches in Revelation ends with provocative questions. The Eighth Letter should be in every pastor's library and ought to be consulted regularly to hear what the Head of the Church says today.

Churches, like people, are prone to “sweep things under the rug.” In time, there can be mounds of dirt that begin to trip up the mission and effectiveness of the church. In The Eight Letter, Mark Barnard and Ken Quick implore churches to sweep out their hidden, historical dirt. I highly recommend this book to all churches, but especially to hurting churches. Follow the principles of this book and your church can get things right with Christ and one another.

Rev. Tom Harris, Executive Director, Interim Pastor Ministries (interimpastors.com)

The Eighth Letter ventures into territory where other books on the subject of church health and revitalization seem unwilling to go. Bypassing the ‘popular’ formulaic approaches to ministry advancement, Barnard and Quick skillfully address the ‘less popular’ notion that the root cause of ongoing struggles, challenges and difficulties in a church’s history are quite possibly the result of God’s loving discipline. As a District Superintendent that oversees churches in five states, I will buy this book

for every pastor in my district.

Rev. Phil Hagar – Assistant to the Superintendent, The Alliance South District of The Christian and Missionary Alliance

Mark Barnard and Kenneth Quick have written a very helpful and insightful book on how Jesus continues to speak to our modern churches through His encouragements and admonitions to the seven churches in the first three chapters of Revelation. Through their thorough analysis the authors identify crucial questions and principles by which to diagnose a church illness or its onset, and they show how dealing with the past corporately can bring exciting spirit-led healing and renewal.
