Elon Musk publicly criticized the U.S. Virgin Islands after court filings revealed that he had been subpoenaed in litigation tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s banking relationships. The subpoena was part of a broader civil case in which the U.S. Virgin Islands sought records from multiple high-profile individuals and institutions to examine Epstein’s financial network. Musk responded sharply, calling the effort “idiotic on so many levels,” and stated that he had never visited Epstein’s island and had declined invitations in the past.
