Six months ago, Sarah, was so happy, she had everything she had ever wanted in her life, and a weekend away with her old school friends to look forward to was just the icing on the cake.
But things just didn’t quite go to plan, and she has just spent the last six months living with a niggling doubt at the back of her mind, but now all was going to be revealed and she would know for sure if her deepest fear is true or not.
She had a holiday with her friends when all aged eighteen, their first holiday together. And on their last night the friends were enjoying a bite to eat together before hitting the bars, they drank a toast to their futures and made a pact that when they become thirty, they will return to Ibiza for the weekend and reminisce about their schooldays and reveal how many of their dreams that they had for the future had been fulfilled.
Abi, being the first to become thirty, arranged for the friends to spend the weekend in a secluded rented cottage in the Hampshire countryside. Not quite Ibiza but that’s because one of the group of friends now suffers with panic attacks flying was no longer an option.
Dee has always been openly gay which was never a problem for any of the others. But Sarah now found herself having to tell her friends about her own sexuality as she had now discovered she was also gay, and now sharing her life and her home with a woman, and she was a little scared of how they would react, when they learn about CJ.
Once all seven friends had arrived and got settled at the cottage and with the wine flowing freely, they started to talk about their lives, and secrets begin to be revealed. Sarah may now be living with a woman, but one by one each of the others start revealing that they have also had an experience with a woman.
But the biggest shock for Sarah has yet to come, just how will she react?
The story then continues six months after that revelation and as a second birthday approaches nerves and feelings are at an all-time high for Sarah as the truth is about to be revealed and she will know for sure.
New friends Ellen and Louise have now joined the group of friends after a chance meeting giving Sarah someone to share her problems with, and they have had an impact on everyone’s life, mainly Sarah’s.
After an illness they lose one of the group and the grief makes Sarah do something out of character, so she agrees to grief counselling, realising the news hit her harder than she first thought. She had started to go into self-destruct mode, risking her relationship and her friendships with her reckless behaviour.
The following six months sees the breakup of Abi’s relationship and sees her back dating men, when the need arises. And CJ, is again sleeping with every women she comes across.
With another reunion looming, this time to celebrate the opening of Roxy’s and Tina’s new bar opening in Ibiza, they are all hoping they can all put the past behind them and enjoy their week away together.
But with more secrets about to become revealed, just how will they all react?
