Sydney's South West Metro undergoes water testing

Sydney's new South West Metro line is undergoing full water testing, with 115,000 litres of water loaded in containers onto trains to simulate the weight of 1,540 passengers at capacity. Two weighted trains are running at speeds up to 100 kilometres per hour, with testing to expand to six trains in March. The metro line, originally scheduled to open at the end of last year, is now expected to be completed by the end of this year, with weekend service disruptions continuing over the next month including Easter.
