European Union courts Greenland: France set to open consulate in Danish territory

The European Union is moving to deepen ties with Greenland, announcing a one-off funding increase of more than $170m and a doubling of its next seven-year budget. The bloc is also restarting implementation of the US–EU trade deal brokered last July, with legal safeguards added after the US president’s threats to take over Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark.
