The longstanding talk show, hosted by Steve Wilkos — a former Chicago police officer and U.S. Marine known for his no-nonsense, straightforward style — tackles a wide range of topics, including relationship issues, family dynamics, social topics and true crime. “The Steve Wilkos Show” is the second longest running syndicated daytime talk show in current production averaging 655,000 Daily Viewers for the 2024-25 season.Steve has had a presence on daytime talk for over 30 years. He began his stint as Jerry Springer’s bodyguard in 1994!After 30 years of a close friendship, Steve fondly memorializes the late Talk Show legend, Jerry Springer, by saying, "Other than my father, Jerry was the most influential man in my life. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a Chicago police officer for 12 years. Late in his law enforcement career, the 6’3” Wilkos began moonlighting, as a security guard on “The Jerry Springer Show.” By the time he started hosting his own show, Wilkos had guest-hosted more than 50 episodes of “The Jerry Springer Show.” His no-nonsense style, informed by his law enforcement background, was different from Springer’s and allowed Wilkos to create his own identity as a tough-talking host. His popularity grew with viewers, and he began hosting his own show in 2007. A huge sports fan and avid golfer, he attends as many professional sporting events as his schedule allows, especially baseball, basketball, and football games. In his downtime, he can also be found riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
