SOUL WORK OF THE WEEK — Recognizing the Connection Field

This practice is not about another person.

It’s about learning how connection feels before it becomes relational.

Once per day, pause during a neutral moment.

Ask yourself:

Am I in a state of openness — or am I reaching for connection?

Notice your body, not your thoughts.

Reaching feels like:

  1. forward tension
  2. mental scanning
  3. emotional anticipation
  4. subtle urgency

Openness feels like:

  1. grounded presence
  2. relaxed attention
  3. no need to act
  4. no directionality

If you notice reaching, do not stop it.

That creates more effort.

Instead, let your body settle where it already is.

Settling might look like:

  1. letting your breath slow naturally
  2. releasing your jaw or shoulders
