On this edition of the Bay Area All Local KCBS News Radio Anchor Steve Scott discusses various topics with experts Auto-makers are pouring research into creating a better way to power their electric vehicles and the answer could be the solid state battery. Proponents of the ground-breaking tech say these batteries could more than double the amount of power an EV has with current batteries and it can be fully charged in less time. But rising costs of EVs in the US could stall the funds that automakers need to make solid state batteries the status quo. It's been one year today since President Trump took office for his second term in the White House. His Administration continues leading the U.S. into uncharted economic and political territory most recently with the president's attempt to assert control over Greenland and slap allies in Europe with tariffs if they are not on board. California saw a 9 percent drop in homelessness in 2025 a figure that Governor Newsom is holding up as a sign that his policies are making a difference for the state's unhoused residents. But the reality on the ground may tell a different story.
