Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton!
We wrap up our mid-season grades today with the Pacific Division. The top of the Pacific is currently a tie between the Oilers and Golden Knights. Goaltending is a big question mark for both teams, with inconsistent play and injuries. Which team is the favourite to win the Pacific?
We head out to California to look at the three teams and their opposing trajectories at this point of the season. Do the Kings belong in the realm with the Oilers and Golden Knights? Is the Ducks inexperience and lack of defensive play too much to overcome? What is the ceiling for the Sharks and Macklin Celebrini?
Next, we go to the northern West Coast where we have Calgary, Seattle, and Vancouver who all are in a weird stage where the question is do they rebuild or do they retool? Will they follow the road map of up-and-coming teams like Chicago and San Jose, or will they try to follow Nashville and get veterans for a playoff push?
Stanley Cup Champion Erik Johnson joins the show to talk about the Avalanche season, Gabriel Landeskog, Olympics, and horse racing.
