The childlike simplicity offered by some of the evolutionary scientists about DNA and the characteristics people have because of having a certain type of gene, is becoming clearly an illusion. But it’s one that’s still promoted.
John Lennox, in his book God’s Undertaker, tells us: Indeed for many years molecular biologists have regarded it as a 'central dogma', as Francis Crick called it, that the genome accounts completely for an organism's inherited characteristics. This inevitably fuelled the kind of biodeterminism that held individual genes responsible for a whole variety not only of human diseases but also of all manner of characteristics from predisposition to violence or obesity - to mathematical ability.
….
However, evidence is rapidly mounting that this is very unlikely to be the case. it is now evident that a large collection of genes may be involved in any one particular trait or function — their correspondence is many-to-one rather than one-to-one.
