Lost and Found

Adam McLeod sat as his desk pondering his situation as he looked out at the grey Detroit skyline. His office was at the top of the forty-story McLeod Tower, just a stone’s throw away from the Greektown Casino. Since he was the owner, and therefore the boss or landlord of everyone in the tower, he could sit and stare all he wanted. If he wanted. Normally it was just a few minutes here and there, because time was money. But lately, he found himself spending more and more time staring out at nothing in particular, just space. Adam got up and strode to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked down. Ant-sized cars, and even smaller people, scurrying about, acting out their daily routines. And most of them going nowhere, just like Adam McLeod.
