goodbye/fun facts....National Cookie Cutter Day..whether it's sugar cookie, gingerbread or any other type of cookie...they just seem to taste better when they're in cute little shapes! Baking things in molds came from the Germans of the 1500s ...they baked small cakes into molds and designs, some of which were very intricate and time consuming. By the time the 1800s came around, cookie cutters were made from tin by American tinsmiths. In fact, the first patent for a cookie cutter in the United States was granted to Alexander P. Ashbourne in 1875. By 1902 Animal Crackers launches its first commercial cookie making changing cookies forever.
